Native of St Quentin, Marie studied graphic arts in the late
70's at the Met de Penninghen studio in Paris. Her attraction
for large - framed is coming from theatre sets she initially
painted. She taught fine art at Paris and Lyon high schools
for 15 years. Today, she devotes herself to painting and more
precisely to watercolours for the past 10 years. She combines
drawing accuracy with the energy of colours, transparency
and fluidity with the light which emanates from it. Influenced
by the Pop Art movment and classic painters, she draws her
inspiration from varying topics of her own environment. She
is fond of warm and bright tonalities. She also likes working
on conveying materials such as zing, glass or metal. Marie'paintings
express nostalgia for real life objects, old and worn out.
