Since Marie-Hélène Stokkink lives in France, she has painted many animals and made many sketches. She is fascinated by the vitality, beauty and poses and the similarity with human beings of all these animals, they inspire and move her. She sketched her subjects unceasingly until the "osmosis" where they become one. So the mystery is accomplished and the painting can be made.
Currently, the hens and cock in her own courtyard inspire her. She never gets tired of observing the behavior and character of the animals. She paints on paper with watercolour and also uses pencils pen, ink and bamboo.
